Rubinesque is sired by the Class 1 Grand Prix German Trakehner, Rubin (deceased). Rubin produced four licensed breeding stallions in Germany and is a noted improvement sire for the Rheinlander breed. Rubin was ridden to great success by the famous dressage rider and trainer Jo Hinneman. Rubinesque is the last known stallion in United States carrying the blood of Rubin. Rubin's sire Flaneur has had great influence on the Trakehner breed. Flaneur-line horses have placed very highly in 100-Day tests, breed inspections, national shows in Europe as well as in the United States. Rubinesque's brother, Rembrandt, won his 100-Day test in Adelheidsorf, Germany in 1979 topping a field of 59 stallions. More recently, Partout, ridden by top international dressage rider, Anky Van Grunsven, was third overall at his stallion testing and scored 9's on all gaits. Partout is sired by the famous stallion Arogno and out of an Altan granddaughter. Arogno's sire is Flaneur and is out of a Nearco-line TB mare just like Rubinesque. Some other well-known horses from this line in this country include: Peron, USET Dressage Horse; Abdullah, USET jumper; and Contucci, Hilltop Farms newly imported stallion. Contucci was third at his stallion testing with a dressage score of 147.11 and scored 9's for character, willingness to work, trainability, the walk, and two scores of 9 for the trot. Contucci's sire Caprimond is double Flaneur bred and is a successful Grand Prix dressage horse in Europe. He has had four sons win the rideability (dressage phase) of their stallion tests. Caprimond was also the overall champion of his stallion testing. Hilltop Farm describes this line as "a truly remarkable line known for its rideability." Both Partout and Caprimond's foals have dominated shows in Europe-earning some of the highest marks for the breed. Rubinesque's grand-dam Reglinde is a 3/4 sister to the international show jumper and sire Marco Polo. Marco Polo was one of the best Trakehners infused into the Dutch breeding program. He sired the speed horse Marius, who in turn sired the internationally famous grey jumper Milton. Marco Polo was by the TB, Poet xx and out of an Altan mare. This blood is world renowned for its jumping talent. Exclusive Native xx is also a noted producer of top jumping horses. The blood of Raise A Native xx and Nasrullah xx dominate the top placing horses in the Performance Horse Registry's year end awards for dressage, jumping, and combined training.
